Services
The United Methodist Retirement Homes, Inc. (UMRH) is a not-for-profit organization related by faith to the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church and open to people of all faiths.
The corporation comprises three Life Plan Communities, one affordable housing community, a foundation and a corporate office.
UMRH was created in 1955 when 13 senior adults moved into the Methodist Retirement Home on Erwin Road in Durham, NC.
Fast-forward to today, and UMRH has grown to three Life Plan Communities and one affordable housing community employing over 700 people serving more than 1,000 residents.
While each of our communities is distinctive in its own way, they all share a few common attributes.
A beautifully maintained, well-appointed campus.
A sense of community among residents and staff.
A smart plan for future health care needs.
And opportunities to lead a fulfilling lifestyle.
Located on over 100 acres of a former dairy farm, Croasdaile Village offers the best of both worlds: rural landscapes with city convenience.
Residents thrive on a beautiful amenity-rich campus, secure in the knowledge that the health services they may need are available on-site, including assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing and rehabilitation.
Wesley Ridge offers affordable housing to senior adults ages 62 and older, and to disabled adults 18 and older.
The community includes six one-story buildings, each containing three one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartment.
Each apartment has a front porch and a covered patio in the back.
A community building with kitchen and laundry facilities is located at the entrance of the campus.
In addition, a screened gazebo and garden house offer space for outdoor activities or simply relaxing.
At UMRH, making life better for the people who live and work at our communities is what we're all about.
To help us meet the needs and wishes of UMRH residents, we depend on the generosity of donors.
To administer charitable donations, we created The United Methodist Retirement Homes Foundation, Inc.
The foundation acts exclusively for charitable and educational purposes on behalf of UMRH communities as defined by sections 501(c)(3) and 170(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.
