Highland Assisted Living & Memory Care
The philosophy and mission of Highland Assisted Living and Memory Care is to always serve our resident's and families in a manner that instills confidence and trust in all duties we perform on their behalf. As a licensed "Home for the Aged", our primary goal is to maximize the quality of life for each resident, and to give each family member the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your loved one is well cared for.

We pride ourselves on our home-like feel, and quaint setting. Our comfortable rooms, home-cooked meals, and specially trained staff, all help to make the residents feel right at home. Mike grew up in Jackson and is an MSU graduate, with degrees in Turfgrass Science, and Agronomy. After working in the golf course business for several years, he had the opportunity to purchase what is now Highland in 2006.

Since making that decision, he has not regretted it for one minute. He says, "I am more active, more fulfilled and have a greater impact on serving others." His heart is to serve the residents and staff that he employs.
Services
Highland is dedicated to providing the best possible assisted living care as well as support for elders living with memory loss.
Providing a Therapeutic, high Quality of Life environment, that gives our families Peace of Mind every day, is what we're all about at Highland.
Our staff enjoys providing person centered care that is dignified, nurturing, stimulating and safe.
Assisted Living - Defined as permanent placement.
You have chosen for your loved one to be cared for and reside at Highland but he or she needs some assistance and 24 hour supervision.
It's important to maintain stability and routine with the residents.
For this reason, we've worked hard to retain good employees.
We understand that it takes a certain type of individual to care for the elderly and those who may be diagnosed with dementia.
Therefore, the supervisory staff at Highland work diligently to recruit only those individuals who possess desirable personality traits and have the willingness to serve.
We train all of our employees to deal with the effects of dementia related diseases and our low staff turnover rate helps to maintain our "family" like atmosphere.
At Highland, we pride ourselves on finding ways to create a quality living experience for each of our residents.
Every day our goal is to meet each individual where they are, and meet their needs, whatever they may be.
We take the time to sit and read a book with a resident or walk with a person that just wants to take a walk.
All of our staff have been trained to use the person-centered care approach, to care for each resident.
We work very hard to encourage social interaction every day which helps residents to avert feelings of loneliness and boredom.
Our Person-Centered Care approach at Highland is the foundation of our caring, nurturing environment and promotes therapeutic healing qualities for each resident.
Our staff is trained to affirm and develop each resident's capabilities and individuality.
Assistance is provided only as needed, therefore protecting the resident's dignity and enabling each person to retain as much control over their own life as possible.
We recognize the importance of maintaining control over ones own life and that this is an essential ingredient in attaining a comfortable life.
Peace of Mind comes from knowing that your loved one is in the caring hands of our knowledgeable staff.
Our registered nurse is on-call 24 hours/day, along with bi-weekly physician visits to the facility.
We also partner with Allegiance Hospital's Department of Behavioral Health, which specializes in Geriatric Psychiatric Medicine for monthly visits.
In addition to our staff and partners, you'll feel better knowing that our building is equipped with alarmed doors and 24 hour video monitoring.
